El pasado día 19 de septiembre, un terremoto de magnitud 7.1 sacudió fuertemente la capital y varios estados de México. Desgraciadamente este fenómeno provocó cientos de derrumbes, dejando a su paso decesos, damnificados, sobrevivientes bajo escombros y edificios colapsados. Permanecemos conmocionados y lamentamos profundamente las pérdidas y daños ocasionados por semejante catástrofe. Como lo anunciamos en nuestras redes sociales (facebook.com/MUTEKMX y twitter.com/MUTEK_MX) en solidaridad con todos los afectados, por el momento, usaremos esos canales para difundir y replicar mensajes de ayuda.
Estamos revisando cada detalle y locación de la programación de esta edición de MUTEK.MX para asegurarnos de que todas las actividades planeadas puedan llevarse a cabo óptimamente y garantizando la seguridad de todos nuestros asistentes, que es lo más importante para nosotros. Estaremos informando cualquier modificación para lo cual les sugerimos estar al pendiente de nuestras redes sociales.
Por la misma razón, pondremos en pausa la venta de boletos para todos nuestros eventos hasta nuevo aviso. Pensamos que en este momento, todas nuestras energías y recursos deben ir a los más necesitados, ya sea en especie o aportando económicamente. Los invitamos a contribuir con su ayuda en el centro de acopio ubicado en la Universidad de la Comunicación (Zacatecas 120, colonia Roma). Asimismo estaremos compartiendo diversas iniciativas de nuestros aliados y colaboradores en este sentido.
Para los que se encuentran en el extranjero, la mejor manera de ayudar es donando a la Cruz Roja Mexicana, a la iniciativa social Omaze y a los Topos. Apreciamos sus aportes. Nuestros corazones están con todos los afectados.

The past Tuesday, September 19th, a 7.1 (Richter scale) earthquake shook Mexico City and several other Mexican states. Unfortunately, this phenomenon left a great amount of buildings collapsed or seriously damaged, and hundreds of wounded and dead people. We are still in shock and we are deeply sorry for the losses and damages caused by the recent catastrophe in our country. As we have been sharing through our social media—facebook.com/MUTEKMX y twitter.com/MUTEK_MX—and in solidarity with all the people affected, for the time being we will only use our channels to spread information about the earthquake and the work that is being donde to recover the country.
We are checking every single detail and venue of our program for this edition of MUTEK.MX to make sure that all planned activities are carried out exceptionally, while guaranteeing safety of all attendants, one of our most important goals. We will inform about any modification and we suggest to keep an eye for any news on our social media.
Because of this, we are momentarily putting on hold the sale of tickets for all our events until further notice. We think that right now all our help and resources should be with the ones in need, whether donating goods or helping out economically. If you live in Mexico City, you can donate in our own stockpile center located at the Universidad de la Comunicación (Zacatecas 120, colonia Roma) or in many of the stockpile centers that are spread around the city.
If you live outside of Mexico, the best way to help is by donating to Mexico's Red Cross, the social initiative Omaze or to the Topos (Mexico's earthquake rescue specialists). Deposits are deeply appreciated. Our hearts and minds are with everyone who has been affected.
