REBECCA & FIONA
Rebecca & Fiona share a message of empowerment found nowhere else within the modern
pop landscape. What’s more, it now boasts a global following. Since their chance meeting at
a party in Stockholm almost a decade ago, Rebecca Scheja & Fiona FitzPatrick have come
to epitomize the look, the sound and the attitude of a generation hungry to let those feel
good demons take control. Having found early success within the electronic dance world, the
inseparable duo are yet to rest on the laurels of two Swedish Grammis, more than 50m
collective streams and landmark international festival appearances at the likes of EDC,
Tomorrowland and Beyond Wonderland.
Where early hits pointed the duo towards their homeland’s stake in the global EDM boom,
time would see their music evolve towards a brand of electronic pop that dared to strike
relatable dialogue. Album offerings I Love You, Man and Beauty is Pain were solid proof of
their reckless approach fitting traditional pop mechanisms, but the outset of 2015 signalled
by far one of their biggest leaps to date. Emphasising their aptitude for purified pop, flawless
hooks and that unshakable dance floor edge, inaugural single turned certified hit ‘Sayonara’
was the perfect opportunity to keep the globe singing along to the tune of Rebecca & Fiona’s
renegade pop agenda, garnering more than 3m streams along the way. On the approach to
‘Drugstore Lovin,’ the duo’s next anticipated smash, their playful yet infectious style hits a
new peak, taking another step into the world of glittery pop whilst keeping the beats buoyant
enough to keep the dance floors moving.
Throughout a career of telling stories, celebrating life and promoting a sense of confidence
found nowhere else in the global landscape right now, Rebecca and Fiona remain an
illuminating brand of electronic pop with an attitude. With their full band live act taking shape
via an array of incoming national and international tour duties, 2016 looks to be an essential
year of reckoning for one of the most powerfully emerging brands in Swedish pop music.
